How the Music is made
🎸 Live Strings, Real Feel
Every beat starts with a spark – chords or a melody I hum until something locks in. I follow the feeling, let it branch, and build around it. When the groove is alive, I run it through the digital side. No forced formulas. Just the sound of discovery.
🎛️ Digital Synths, Sound Design, and FX
Once the vibe is formed, it moves into the digital audio workstation for development. Timing locks in. Arrangements take shape. Sound effects are woven in to drive the feeling home – a layer of tape hiss, a field recording, maybe a crack of thunder.
The MPK261 and daw presets drive the modern side: deep bass, warm pads, chopped loops. But I also experiment – twisting presets, resampling, building my own textures. It’s digital with soul, never cold.
Where the sound comes from
That’s me and my cousin, tearing through Bronx sidewalks before we even knew what a “beat” was. Those blocks were our first classroom. The corner boombox? That was our first sampler. Hip‑hop found us there – and never let go. I still chase that same rush of discovery. Only now, my digging grounds are archive.org – old books, forgotten field recordings, out‑of‑print manuals. I translate them into beats, sample packs, and visual art. Same hunger. New tools.
